Jega disappointed me on how he conducted the 2015 general election- GEJ says

In a book scheduled to be launched on Friday April 28th, former spokesperson of late President Musa Yar'Adua and Chairman of Thisday editorial board, Segun Adeniyi, revealed that Former President Goodluck Jonathan was unhappy with the manner former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega, went about conducting the 2015 general election which he lost in to President Buhari. Part of the book quotes Jonathan to have said;

“I was disappointed by Jega because I still cannot understand what was propelling him to act the way he did in the weeks preceding the election. As at the first week in February 2015 when about 40 percent of Nigerians had not collected their PVCs, Jega said INEC was ready to conduct an election in which millions of people would be disenfranchised.”
Jonathan is also quoted to have accused that Americans were urging Jega to go on with the elections despite the fact that some Nigerians had not collected their voters card.
“Of course, the Americans were encouraging him to go ahead yet they would never do such a thing in their own country. How could we have cynically disenfranchised about a third of our registered voters for no fault of theirs and still call that a credible election? The interesting thing was that the opposition also supported the idea of going on with the election that was bound to end in confusion” he said
Jonathan in the book defended his decision to postpone the election by six weeks.
“When the military and security chiefs demanded for more time to deal with the insurgency, the reasons were genuine. As at February 2015, it would have been very difficult to vote in Gombe, Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states. But moment all the arms and ammunition that had been ordered finally arrived, the military was able to use them to degrade the capacity of Boko Haram to the level in which they posed the threat to the election.

Kenya threatens legal action against American series '24 Legacy' for using Westgate attack clip

The Kenya Films Classification Board (KFCB) has threatened to take legal action against the new American series '24 Legacy' for using a clip of the Westgate mall terror attack.
In a statement released today, the head of KFCB, Ezekiel Mutua condemned the broadcaster, FOX TV, for evoking the painful memories of the tragic terror attack.
'The Board regards the movie as a repulsive, insensitive and reckless piece of art that heartlessly evokes the painful memories of the tragic terror attack. It flies in the face of basic consideration of human dignity, in total disregard of the feelings of the victims and their families.
In the statement, he also demanded an immediate pull down of the clip.
'The Kenya Film Classification Board takes great exception to this unfortunate and unprofessional video by 24 Legacy and demands that the airing of the video be suspended forthwith.'
The Westgate Shopping Mall tragedy was an attack where Al-Shabaab militants killed at least 67 people with more that 175 wounded in a mass shooting, which took place in Nairobi.
It's better to be an atheist than a greedy Christian' - Pope Francis
Pope Francis in a sermon today in Rome said, Christians who exploit people, lead a double life and get involved in "dirty business," scandalize the church,In fact, it might be better just to be an atheist, and so many Christians are like this, and these people scandalize others, but to be a Catholic like that, it's better to be an atheist. It is that, scandal. You destroy. You beat down, he said.

According to Vatican Radio. Examples of such scandals abound, the Pope said, adding that they destroy the church and the guilty Christian from within.

He imagines a wealthy Christian knocking at the gates of heaven and saying, "Here I am, Lord! I went to Church, I was close to you, I belong to this association, I did this. Don't you remember all the offerings I made?" To which Jesus may reply, according to the Pope: "Yes, I remember. The offerings, I remember them: All dirty. All stolen from the poor. I don't know you.' That will be Jesus' response to these scandalous people who live a double life."

Thursday's sermon is far from the first time Francis has targeted Christian hypocrites. In a sermon last February, the outspoken pope called out the "fakeness" of some Christians, who talk piously, but do nothing to help others.

"To be a Christian means to do the will of God and on the last day because all of us we will have one that day what shall the Lord ask us? Will He say: 'What you have said about me?' No. He shall ask us about the things we did." It isn't the first time the Pope has mentioned atheists, either.

Britain's youngest mum who was raped by her brother and had the child taken away after she gave birth at 12 is now pregnant

Remember Britain's youngest mum who gave birth at the age of 12 years old? At that time, her name wasn't revealed to protect her identity. She has since grown up and at 23 years old, she now has a fiance and is pregnant with another child. As Tressa Middleton struggled to get pregnant with her fiance, she felt she was being punished for letting her firstborn be taken away and feared she would never have another child.
Fortunately, her despair turned to joy when she discovered she was finally pregnant with her first baby with fiancé, Darren Young, 30.
The happy moment came 10 years after she was forced to give up her baby at 2 years when she confessed that her child's father was her older brother who had raped her at 11, making her Britain’s youngest mum.
Tressa, who had a previous miscarriage , has vowed to “never let this new baby go” – but she admitted she is still haunted by the loss of her first tot to another family. She said:
“I know it sounds crazy but when I was trying to fall pregnant and it wasn’t happening, I thought the worst. “Not having my daughter with me still affects me every single day and I thought I was being punished for what happened with her, for letting her go.
“Discovering I was pregnant was bittersweet. I am so excited about what the future holds and I already love my baby. “I cannot wait to meet him or her but when both lines on that pregnancy test showed up, although I was happy, I was desperately sad as well. I had a little cry.
“I am so grateful I am finally going to be the mother I have longed to be all these years. But I don’t ever want my first child to think I abandoned her, or that I am replacing her with this new baby.
“I’d welcome her back tomorrow with open arms if I could and I hope she knows she will always be a part of our family. “But this is the future for me and I can’t keep looking back. The past has made me even more determined to keep this child and give him or her the best possible life.”

Tressa said her family was stunned when she announced she was pregnant at the age of 11 but she never told them that she had been raped by her 16-year-old brother Jason, rather, she told them that it was the result of a drunken fling.
Tressa gave birth to a daughter in 2006 aged 12 and raised her child for two years. But when she finally told them who got her pregnant, Govt authorities took her child from her. She spent the next three years in and out of foster and care homes and fell into a spiral of drink and drug use to numb the pain.

In 2010, she met her fiance and became drug free with his help.

Tressa said:
“My little girl is 10 now. She’ll be 11 in the summer almost the same age I was when I fell pregnant.
“It has made me realise just how young I was when all that happened. At the time I didn’t feel like I was that young because I had already been through so much but now, it makes me feel sick. No child should have that happen.”

She said they started trying for their own baby 18 months ago when her daughter stopped writing to her.
Tressa said:
“I used to sit waiting for her letters to arrive every six months and my whole life revolved around knowing how she was doing, dreaming of the day we would be reunited.
“I would hang on every little detail about how she was doing in school and what toys she liked. Then the letters suddenly stopped coming and I had to face the reality that my daughter has moved on with another family. I was heartbroken but I realised I wanted to be a proper mum more than anything so we started trying for a baby.
“This time the baby is coming into a happy, secure home with two adults who are going to adore him or her and do everything we can to make sure they have a healthy and happy upbringing.
“I will tell our child about their big sister. There will be no secrets because she is still a big part of our family.
“My hope is that one day my two babies can meet each other but who knows whether that will happen.”
With the rapist brother, Jason

Tressa, of Bathgate, West Lothian, told how she and Darren had contemplated trying to get custody of her daughter but decided against it.
She added: “I realise now that would be selfish.
“She is settled and has her own life. I wouldn’t want to disrupt that.
“I knew she would be going to a stable and secure home and that was what I wanted for her. That is why I gave up my daughter. I want her to have the best life possible, just like we are going to give this baby. But I just wish her parents would let me know she is OK.
“I write letters in a book to her. It will be up to her if one day she decides to find me, and I will be here waiting and she can read everything I have written. It helps me to get my feelings down"
The rapist brother is serving a 30 year jail term for the rape.

Her mum who stood by her throughout the years sadly died in 2012.

Former US president, George H.W. Bush hospitalized
According to the Houston Chronicle and Houston TV station, former US president George H.W. Bush has been hospitalized. Bush's chief of staff, Jean Becker, says he was admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital after falling ill but he's "doing fine."

Bush, who served a single-term as President from 1988 to 1992, was not expected to attend the inauguration of the 45th President, Donald J. Trump, in Washington on Friday due to health concerns.

Several bouts with illness have kept the 92-year-old out of the spotlight in recent years and he has rarely made public remarks.

Bush revealed several years ago that he suffered from a form of Parkinson's disease that left him unable to walk.

He uses a wheelchair or a scooter to get around and had two other health scares in 2014 and 2015
